Your data
The data Miles holds on you through the Miles app and the Miles Plug: how to delete your account, how to get a copy of your data, and where to find it in the app.
Delete your account
In the app (fastest): open Account, then Control Center, then Delete account. Your account stops working as soon as you confirm, and deletion cannot be undone.
Without the app (for example, after uninstalling it): email support@mileslabs.com with the subject line Delete my Miles account, from the email address you sign in with. We reply to that address to confirm the request is yours, then delete the account and confirm by email when it is done. If you no longer have access to that email address, say so in your message and we will verify another way.
What deletion removes
If you are the only owner of your household, deleting your account deletes the household:
- Your account. It cannot be signed in to again, and the email address is released.
- Every member's profile: name, date of birth, phone number, and photo. Members who also belong to another household keep their account there.
- Every trip, location history, driving and vehicle health record, and everything the Miles Plug reported for the household's vehicles.
- The vehicles, saved places, emergency contacts, alert settings, and conversations with the in-app assistant. The Miles Plug itself is unlinked from the household.
If you are a member but not the owner, only you are removed: your account, your profile, your app activity, and your conversations with the assistant. The household's vehicles and trips stay with the household, no longer linked to you.
Some records are kept after deletion: the consents you gave and the deletion itself are kept as an audit trail, and other records are kept where the law requires it, with identifying details such as your name and email removed. The Privacy Policy explains what is kept and for how long. Deleting your account does not refund a prepaid Membership.
Get a copy of your data
Email privacy@mileslabs.com with the subject line Copy of my Miles data, from the address you sign in with. We confirm the request is yours, then gather your trips, places and account information and email it to you. The same request is available in the app under Control Center, Download my data.
Your data in the app
Account, then Control Center, shows how Miles handles your data, where you are signed in, and how to stop location collection. To ask about a specific kind of data, or to make a request under a privacy law that applies to you, email privacy@mileslabs.com.
